The Local Landscapes and Hidden Histories Project
The Local Landscapes and Hidden Histories is a three year, community interest project which is made possible with funding from the National Lottery Heritage fund. The project is a heritage project, which works together with communities, individuals and organisations across the city. They work in seven city-wide green spaces including Hartsholme Park, Boultham Park, Lincoln Arboretum, Birchwood Nature Park, West Common, South Common and Cow Paddle. Each area with it's own unique landscape character and consequently each with its own set of tangible and intangible heritage assets. The project delivers a range of activities which connects the local community to heritage, including a monthly Local History Café, regular Breakfast Birdwatching Sessions, heritage outreach with schools and youth groups, and health through heritage skills sessions to name a few.
