The Department for Education have confirmed that the 2024 teachers’ pay order has been laid in Parliament and the final version of the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document ( STPCD) is now live on gov.uk.

The process requires that there is the 21 day praying period before the STPCD will come into force on 8 November, with its provisions back-dated to 1 September.

LGA survey for teachers pay 2025

A reminder, that the consultation for 2025 is now open as well. Employer Link subscribers are asked to provide their views to feed into the National Employers response.

Scope of the survey:

  • Our survey asks questions about affordability, budgeting, and its impact.
  • We ask for evidence on recruitment and retention challenges.
  • Your views on amending the STPCD in relation to TLRs and full time/part time teachers. Invite views on flexible working.
  • Some final open questions seeking views on other changes you would like to see considered, and in particular, anything that might improve equality.

Survey guidelines:

  • Submit one response per organisation
    • As such, you are the only person in your Trust that is receiving this email. Please share as necessary, and co-ordinate who will be responsible for submitting the response (views of HR, Finance and the Senior Leadership Team would be helpful).
    • Collaboration document. If you wish to collaborate with colleagues on the survey, you will need to condense all the views into one response to comply with the one response per organisation.Please do not share the link to the online survey with schools as we only accept 1 online response per organisation, but if you would like a Word version of the survey to share and gather views please contact info@employerlink.gov.uk.
  • Please answer with the majority of the academies in your Trust in mind. Skip questions you cannot answer.
  • Open questions: please keep these as concise as possible.
