Transforming Public Procurement stakeholder webinars

Following the recent confirmation that we are working towards a ‘go live’ date for the new regime of Monday 28 October, Cabinet Office would like to invite all stakeholders to join them for a series of update webinars. The webinars will provide an update on key Transforming Public Procurement programme (TPP) milestones, go over the Learning and Development (L&D) offer, give updates, and provide overviews on the Central Digital Platform and the new Procurement Review Unit whilst discussing what to expect over the next six months and how best to prepare.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions of the Transforming Public Procurement team. Registration for the webinar events is via the links below, places are however limited.

Please select the event that you wish to attend from the following options:

The suite of L&D offer can be found on the Transforming Public Procurement landing page. For other matters, please email with a clear subject line title.

The 2023 Procurement Act represents the biggest change in procurement legislation in a generation, Tussell sat down with Shailee Howard - Principal Associate at procurement law experts, Mills & Reeve - to learn all about the key changes being introduced by the Act, and what contracting authorities need to know ahead of October 2024.

Placements for children in care resource

Where a child is in the care of the council, it is vital they feel safe and are able to thrive where they live. To support councils and councillors with this we've published a guide dedicated to exploring the key legislation, policies and good practice for providing quality  placements for children in care.

Border Target Operating Model update

The government announced that it is making changes to the way the UK imports food, animal and plant products in order to improve biosecurity.

Products which present a ‘medium’ risk to our biosecurity will now undergo identity and physical checks. Additionally, ‘high risk’ goods will now be checked at the border, where before they were checked at destination.

The government is also launching today two new pilots which will test whether businesses can carry out checks away from the border. The changes being implemented today are part of the Border Target Operating Model.

ACT in a BOX exercises for businesses and voluntary organisations

The National Counter Terrorism Security Office has launched ACT in a BOX, a digital interactive tool that enables businesses and voluntary organisations to rehearse and explore their response to a terrorist incident. It provides the opportunity for businesses to increase their preparedness and staff awareness, and support wider community resilience.

Councils are encouraged to share this information as appropriate.
