Local Government Services (Green Book) Pay 2024

UNISON, GMB and Unite are expected to lodge the 2024 local government pay claim at the end of February. Employer Link subscribers will be invited to an online briefing, taking place at 10am on 25 March to set out the details of the claim and the wider economic context of the negotiations. An invite will be sent separately, when you receive this feel free to forward on to lead trustees, Chief Executives, HR and Finance Directors should they wish to attend in person.

School Teachers’ Pay 2024

Thank you to those that completed the consultation questionnaire that will help to shape the National Employers (NEOST) response to the School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB). We received a record 84 responses. The STRB’s remit letter can be found here: School Teachers’ Review Body remit letter for 2024 - GOV.UK

The NEOST response will be written and submitted in February and shared with subscribers as appropriate alongside other statutory consultees.

NJC for Brigade Managers: pay award 2024

NJC for Brigade Managers has reached an agreement on pay for 2024. The agreement includes revised minimum annual rates of pay for chief fire officers.

School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document 2023

Following the Initial workload taskforce recommendations, agreed by the Secretary of State for Education and the General Secretaries of the teaching unions, the Department for Education (DfE) has proposed changes to the current STPCD 2023, in relation to the agreed recommendation to reinsert an updated list of administration tasks that teachers should not ordinarily be expected to carry out. There is a two week period to enable statutory consultees (including the national employers, NEOST) to consider and submit any responses to the proposed additional wording. The final revised STPCD 2023 is expected to be published online w/c 19 February 2024.

If you would like to review the proposals with a view to feeding into this consultation please contact info@local.gov.uk.

Please note that the task force recommendation to remove the PRP requirement in the current STPCD 2024 is not included as part of this statutory consultation process. Further information on that consultation process will follow as soon as the details have been confirmed by DfE.
