Happy New Year!

This newsletter provides a round-up of all the relevant news that Employer Link has gathered over the last month.

School Teachers’ Pay 2024

The remit letter for the School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB) that signals the start of the 2024/25 pay round was issued by the Secretary of State for Education on Wednesday 20 December. The letter can be found here: School Teachers’ Review Body remit letter for 2024 - GOV.UK.

The National Employers (NEOST) will be drafting a consultation questionnaire to help shape their response, and Employer Link subscribers will receive this call for evidence very soon.


Pay negotiations: Teachers in Residential Establishments

The allowances in the national agreement for 2023 have been set out in the Joint Education Services Circular (JESC) No 229 - Final TRE pay and allowance circular 6 December 2023.


Pay negotiations: Local Government Services (Green Book)

The National Employers are expecting the trade union pay claim in the coming weeks, which will signal the start of the collective bargaining process for the pay award to apply from April 2024. Once the claim is submitted, Employer Link will issue a bulletin at the earliest opportunity.


Pay negotiations: Soulbury

A pay agreement has been reached for Soulbury Officers for 2022 and 2023, which includes a structural change to the pay spines from September 2023.


Pay negotiations: Youth & Community

The Joint Negotiating Committee for Youth and Community Workers has reached a pay agreement for 2023.
