Upcoming events
Dear colleague,
Happy new year!
As we start 2023, we welcome you to this month's events bulletin where the spotlight is on our Annual national construction conferences held on 2 February, in London and 7 March, in Leeds. Working with the construction industry, councils are best positioned to lead place-based approaches to hit net zero targets, lead on local green growth and, use procurement best practice to tackle spiralling inflation, resource scarcity, sustainability issues and a move to modern methods of construction and digitalisation. Now in its 10th year the LGA’s annual national construction conference is returning with two in-person events, featuring speakers from local government, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Cabinet Office and industry, the events will look at how the combination of the climate emergency, a cost-of-living crisis and global political instability continues to impact the UK’s construction industry and councils’ delivery of construction projects.
We also hope you can join us at the LGA’s Annual Licensing Conference which returns in-person on 8 February. The conference provides an unrivalled opportunity to discuss all the key strategic and practical developments that can be expected to affect councils’ licensing committees and teams over the year ahead. Delegates will hear from a range of expert speakers drawn from all areas of licensing and will also have the opportunity to take part in practical workshops on fee setting, taxi licensing, security and licensing. The Rt Hon Chris Philp MP, Minister for Crime, Policing and Fire, Home Office is confirmed to speak.
Please find below details of our other forthcoming events.
