Hello,
Thank you for showing an interest in local government on the Times Top 100 website. Our application deadline is 4 January 2023 at midday so there is still time to get your application in!
From affordable housing and caring for the vulnerable in society, to thriving local businesses and carbon neutral communities, local councils work across a huge variety of critical issues. We are looking for talented, passionate individuals to join them in designing and leading projects which can make a real difference.
Graduate trainees on the National Graduate Development Programme (NGDP), work on a range of important service areas, delivering change for their communities every day. Our trainees rotate between three to four placements across the two years. From policy design to project management, they get to see the impact of their work in measurable, tangible outcomes. It’s a rewarding role, and one that comes with:
- a minimum starting salary of £28,371 (plus London inner/outer weighting, if applicable)
- a minimum two-year contract with a local council
- a culture of flexible working
- a fully-funded learning and development qualification, including an ILM Level 7 certificate in Leadership and Management
- a cohort of 200+ fellow trainees and opportunities to get involved with a number of our NGDP Networks
- on-the-job mentoring and career support.
Interested? All we ask for is a 2.2 undergraduate degree by July 2023 and the right to work in the UK. There’s no work experience or knowledge required and we accept applications from all degree disciplines.
Our assessment process is based on our key skills and behaviours, and we provide application insight and support at every stage.
To learn more, visit our website or watch one of the recordings of our recent virtual workshops on Zoom.
Best wishes,
The NGDP team
