LGA Next Generation – free training and development opportunity

We want to support all our members who want to push themselves to be the best local leaders they can. The LGA’s Next Generation Programme offers ambitious and talented councillors an unparalleled political development opportunity – uniquely developed within party political traditions and with party political experts. The Programme equips emerging political leaders with the skills and confidence to be bold champions of local government and progress in their political careers.

Our Next Generation cohort of councillors also gets free access and accommodation to the LGA’s annual conference, being held in July 2023 in Bournemouth.

If you are interested please fill out the Next Generation Programme application form.

The Group Office or the programme’s coordinator, Michael Barrett, are more than happy to discuss the programme with you.

Political Leadership masterclass -  support on Integrated Care Systems - Wednesday 7 September 2022, 10.00am - 4.00pm

It is a time of significant and complex structural and legislative change across health and social care. Health and Wellbeing Boards (HWBs) are an enduring part of the system. Aimed at HWB Chairs, this masterclass aims to provide an opportunity for political leaders to come together in person to reflect, share learning and work through leadership challenges with peers, as well as hearing from some authoritative speakers.
