Mapping national employment and skills provision

The LGA has published a new online resource which provides councils with information of national employment and skills provision that is available in their area. The resource includes an interactive roadmap and will help councils understand the spatial footprints that shape local provision and how this is changing. It also looks to support local and national government to collaborate to shape provision and maximise opportunities.

LGA’s data benchmarking tool, LG Inform, shortlisted for 2021 ‘Analysis in Government Award’

The LGA’s data benchmarking tool, LG Inform, has been shortlisted for a 2021 ‘Analysis in Government Award’ in the ‘Communications’ category. The awards are run by the Civil Service’s Government Analysis Function to support analysts working across Government.  LG Inform was shortlisted because of the LGA’s Research and Information team’s successful work this year to 1) ensure that timely and up-to-date data on COVID-19 has been readily available to all English local authorities, and 2) develop a range of new themed reports to help councils understand key issues affecting the recovery of their local areas and the issues for levelling up. LG Inform has had over 4.3 million views since November 2013.

Metrics added to LG Inform this month include:
