During lockdown, volunteers from across the country have contacted nearly 40,000 potentially vulnerable people to check if they’re okay and signpost them to their local council helplines if they need it. And it is being noticed that the Liberal Democrats – including many of our councillors – are leading on this.
Not only is it a great recruitment for phone canvassers but proves to the public what we already know: we believe in looking after our communities before anything else.
We are holding two briefings on the VPB Drive for Liberal Democrat councillors who haven’t yet had the chance to be involved with this, where we will explain what, why and how we’re doing this as well as room for questions. Cllr Alan Connett, LGA Liberal Democrat Group Whip, will co-host.
