Our work is widely used within the organisation and often features in the media. Find out more.

Polling on resident satisfaction with councils: June 2019

This report outlines the twenty third set of results in a series of regular LGA public polls on resident satisfaction with local councils, conducted every four months.

Children’s social work health check survey 2018 - report of findings

This survey, conducted in November 2018, collated the findings from English councils own annual health checks for Childrens’ Services in the same way as has been done for Adults’ Services since 2017. The health check is a tool which helps to support and deliver effective social work, and it is a key element of the Standards for Employers of social workers (Standard 1). The report presents the findings from the survey which provide a snap shot of continuous improvement locally, regionally and nationally and enable the identification of trends, which can help to shape and inform priorities for social work at all levels. A copy of the report is available here.

LG Inform and LG Inform Plus

LG Inform: Key financial indicator report

This Key Financial Indicator report has been produced to help councils and others understand how their financial position compares with other authorities. It allows people to track change in local government finance at a council by council level. The report provides a range of financial indicators relating to a council and allows comparison with other councils, each of which says something about the council’s financial position. We have included some of the same indicators used by Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) in its financial resilience index. It is worth noting that the data in this report will update automatically with the release of new data using the LGA's LG Inform platform. Therefore indicators may depart from those published by CIPFA. You can view the report here.

Metrics added to LG Inform this month include:
