The Department for Education’s new EdTech Strategy “Realising the potential of technology in education” was launched in early April. This announcement marks a new chapter in the Department’s ambitions to support the sector through use of technology.

The strategy was developed with sector feedback and it expects to continue the conversation to make the ambitions of this strategy a reality. The strategy can be read in full and the link also includes a short summary to help capture some of the key new announcements.

Employer Link is keen that our subscribers have the opportunity to feed into this work going forward – especially individuals with the responsibility for organisational IT strategies to ensure that national outcomes will be compatible with local practices. If you have an IT lead, and think the Department would be interested in joining this debate please forward this bulletin to them and ask them to contact us at info@employerlink.co.uk.

Finally, the Department is intending to launch two industry events in mid May, co-hosted with Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, as a chance to unpack the opportunities in this strategy. Should you be interested in attending, please do register your early interest by responding to info@employerlink.co.uk.
