Health and Wellbeing System Bulletin

December 2018

Dear colleagues,

The LGA, the Association of Directors of Adult Social Care (ADASS), Association of Directors of Public Health, NHS Clinical Commissioners, NHS Confederation and NHS Providers launched a joint report, Shifting the centre of gravity, at this year's National Children and Adult Services Conference.

This joint report shows what can be achieved by system leaders and staff from local government, the NHS, the voluntary and social enterprise sector, and carer groups working together to improve health and deliver person-centred care. This refreshed vision is based on a wide-ranging review, including a study of progress, since 2016's Stepping up to the place.

Don't forget to save the date for our annual summit, co-chaired by Cllr Ian Hudspeth, Chairman, LGA Community Wellbeing Board, and Dr Graham Jackson, Co-chair, NHS Clinical Commissioners. The Political and clinical leaders in health and care annual summit, "Powerful partnerships, healthier places", takes place on 27 February 2019. To book, please contact paige.edwards@local.gov.uk

On 26 November, council leaders, health and wellbeing boards, healthy scrutiny committees received a letter from the NHS regarding its long-term plan. If you have any further questions please email your regional NHS England team.
