Allied Healthcare: latest updates and advice
On 30 November Nestor Primecare Services Limited, trading as Allied Healthcare, sold Allied in an asset sale to Healthcare Resourcing Group (HCRG) trading as CRG, including the Primecare and Firstcall businesses. The LGA is working closely with ADASS to support councils with their contingency plans. Consumer law advice sets out obligations for care homes
The Competition and Markets Authority is providing advice so care homes understand their responsibilities under consumer law. It will be conducting a review in 12 months’ time to assess how well care homes are complying and may take further action before then if it finds care homes are treating residents and their families unfairly and breaking the law. Social care commissioners should be aware that the advice is also relevant to local authority responsibilities for funded placements.
