The day will be
a mix of plenary and breakout sessions. Speakers include:

Please note that this event is only open to newly elected London
Labour Councillors elected for the first time on Thursday 3 May 2018.
The event is
likely to be oversubscribed and will be on a first come, first served
basis. The LGA is currently in the process of updating the list of
councillors but for now we would be grateful if you could pass this on to new
members in your authority.

‘Hitting the Ground Running’: Local Government Association development
session for newly elected members - 19 June 2018
The Carriageworks Theatre, The Electric Press 3 Millennium Square Leeds, LS2 3AD 10.30am – 3.00pm
This session is open to new councillors across Yorkshire and Humber
and the East Midlands who have been elected (for the first time) in May 2018.
The session aims to enable new members to explore their role and share learning
from experienced members. It aims to give new members a wider perspective
on the role of a councillor, provides an opportunity meet other newly elected
members from across the region, as well as learn about the support available
from the Local Government Association. The session is free and lunch will
be provided. A full programme will be available nearer the time.
