Come Back to Social Work update

Dear colleague

We are pleased to let you know that the Come Back to Social Work candidates have now finished their training and are busy preparing their learning portfolios and registration forms for the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). They should be gaining their registration in February and are already considering which councils they would like to work for.

What happens next?

We will shortly be sharing your contact details with those candidates who have expressed an interest in working for you.

The candidates will then make contact with you directly to arrange an interview and we will share any relevant application forms with you. Candidates will bring their own learning portfolios, HCPC registration and a proof of ID along with them to any interview you arrange.

If your details have changed, or you are no longer interested in the programme, we would be grateful if you could contact us so that we can update our records.

How many candidates can I interview?

For the purposes of this pilot, each council will be able to interview up to three candidates with a limit of one job offer per local authority. This is to help us achieve a fair distribution of new social workers nationally. We do hope to run similar programmes in future on a regional level where we can train more candidates.

Thank you for your ongoing interest in the Come Back to Social Work programme.

Yours sincerely
