14-20 September is Gas Safety Week, a national campaign that raises awareness of gas safety and the importance of protecting yourself and your family from gas-related risks. Did you know we carry out annual gas safety inspections in every Leeds Federated home with a gas supply? In 2025/26, we completed 99.9% of gas safety checks.
By working together, we can help keep your home safe. That's why it's important to let us in your home for your annual gas safety check. Not only is it a legal requirement, but it also helps protect you, your household and your neighbours by making sure gas appliances and systems are working safely and correctly.
If you can’t make your appointment, let us know as soon as possible so we can reschedule and keep your certificate valid.

We're carrying out Home Condition Surveys from now until December 2026. These surveys help us make sure your home is safe, well maintained and up to standard. They can identify repairs you may not be aware of and help us plan future improvements, such as new kitchens or bathrooms. We've appointed Savills to carry out the surveys on our behalf. We’ll send a letter to you in advance to tell you when Savills will be visiting your area.
Don’t worry if you’re not home when they visit. They will leave a card with contact details so you can arrange an appointment at a time that works for you.

From 1 October, housing associations like us will have to publish more information about themselves under new government legislation - Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs). This legislation will help to make housing associations more transparent and accountable. Examples of the new information we'll publish include policies relating to tenancies, our repairs performance, and who governs our organisation. To make sure the information is easy to find, we'll be adding a new STAIRs page to our website later this month that will show you where we've published different documents.

These discounted tariffs are offered by many major providers and could help reduce your monthly outgoings. It's worth checking if you qualify, you might be surprised at how much you could save!

Interested in having your say, sharing your views, and helping to shape our services? On Monday, 12 October, 12-3pm, we'll be hosting a Get Involved workshop at the Printworks Kitchen and Bar cafe in Leeds (Printworks Campus, Leeds City College, Hunslet Road, Leeds, LS10 1JY.)
By getting involved you can make a real difference in your community, influence decisions that affect your home and neighbourhood, develop new skills, meet other customers, and gain valuable experience. Whether you have a little time to spare or would like to play a bigger role, there are opportunities to suit everyone.
We'll explore the different ways you can make your voice heard, from completing quick surveys on our Flash Feedback Your Voice page to joining the Customer Voices Panel, taking part in policy groups, or even becoming a Board member. You can choose how much or how little you'd like to do – every contribution makes a difference.
Our Chief Executive, Matthew Walker, will also be there to talk about why customer involvement matters and the positive impact it can have on our services and communities.
If you'd like to come along, please email customer.engagement@lfha.co.uk to reserve your place. We'd love to see you there!

Recently, we held a workshop with customers to discuss the future of our repairs service. During the session, customers helped shape two customer-focused questions that will form part of the tender pack we'll issue to potential contractors.
From September, we'll begin the procurement process, and the customers who took part in the workshops will help assess the contractor responses to these customer-led questions. This ensures customer priorities remain at the heart of the decision-making process for our repairs service.
We'll provide further updates on shortlisted and appointed contractors in early 2027, ahead of the new contractor being formally appointed in April 2027.

In July, we celebrated the first anniversary of the East Leeds Imagination Library pilot, delivered in partnership with Community Learning Partnerships, Clarion Housing Group, Places for People and Yorkshire Housing.
