Maintaining and improving homes up to 2030

Join our webinar!

Recently, the Leeds Federated Board approved our new Asset Management Plan. The plan describes how we will maintain and improve customers’ homes over the next seven years, ensuring that they meet the government’s Decent Homes Standard. There is a particular focus on improving insulation and energy efficiency, as well as preparing to meet net zero carbon targets.

You can join us for a Zoom webinar in May to hear more about the Asset Management Plan from our Head of Assets, Mark Donnachie, along with other managers in the Assets Team.

There are two webinar dates:

  • Tuesday 9th May at 6pm
  • Thursday 11th May at 12:30pm

Dealing with anti-social behaviour

Anti-social behaviour can range from unacceptable behaviour like verbal abuse, banging on doors, and tipping household rubbish in communal areas through to serious criminal behaviour that leaves residents in fear. Where necessary, we take legal proceedings and work closely with residents, police, solicitors, and the courts to end a tenancy.

Click below to find out more about how we deal with such cases and what the challenges of the legal system are for everyone.

Our 2023 – 2024 programme for maintaining homes

Last year, more than 1,000 customers had improvements to their homes – including the fitting of state-of-the-art heating and hot water boilers. We are looking to start our 2023-2024 works programme in April, and our-in house contractor Arthington Property Services (APS) is currently surveying to understand where works are required.

If you are on one of our 2023-2024 programmes, we will be writing to let you know – we will then arrange an appointment to chat with you about what works are due.

Coronation Big Lunch and Big Help out

Resources to help plan a great weekend!

On Saturday 6th May, the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort will take place at Westminster Abbey. This weekend will be a wonderful opportunity to get together with family, friends, and neighbours to celebrate this important event. There are lots of resources available to help plan street parties and gatherings for both the Coronation Big Lunch and Big Help Out on Monday 8th May. As part of the long weekend of celebrations, there is a drive across the nation to promote volunteering and demonstrate our commitment to our community with the Big Help Out.

We know that neighbours living well together, being neighbourly and respectful, makes for stronger communities where people are happy to live. If you want to team up with neighbours in your street to organise a celebration, or volunteer to take on a local project, we can help with organising or contribute small grants towards costs. This is something we did last year, when we helped customers in sheltered housing schemes with their celebrations of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee.

If you'd like to get something arranged, please email Louise Darby, Customer Engagement Manager: louise.darby@lfha.co.uk
