Looking after gardens and communal areas during the Autumn and Winter

With Autumn fully upon us and a wet and windy one too, looking after gardens and communal areas can be a challenge. Trees and shrubs are shedding their leaves and when you can’t get out to do your garden in the shorter days or the weather is against you, it can seem a thankless task. Find out more about how the garden teams manage their schedules during the Winter and the work undertaken, plus their tips on what you can do in your own garden or to help if you live in an area with communal gardens.

Our text message phone number is changing

From 21st November, one of the numbers we use to send text messages will be changing.

Our current numbers are: 07908 250809 and 85123.

We will continue to use 85123 but will be swapping 07908 250809 to our new number 07800 000232.

Customers will receive a text message reminder about the change before it happens and another message once our new number is live. This message will come from our new number.

Any text messages we receive via the new number will be picked up by our Customer Service team as usual.

We don’t expect any downtime in the texting service and the switchover should not cause any delays of disruptions to our services. Our main phone line will remain unchanged as 0113 386 1000.

Here are the results of our latest customer satisfaction survey

Each quarter, M.E.L research (an independent research agency) surveys around 150 of our customers so that we can get feedback on our services. This feedback helps us to identify what we’re doing well and where we need to improve, so that we can keep working towards providing the best possible experience for our customers.

We publish the results of these surveys to ensure that we are accountable to the government’s Regulator of Social Housing and you.

All homes are at risk of condensation, particularly through the winter months. Excess condensation in your home can lead to problems such as mould growth, which can affect your health and the health of your home. Small amounts of condensation are not usually a problem, and there are some everyday things we can all do to help prevent it. We have created a page on our website to give you more tips and advice about how to keep your home and family healthy and well over the winter months. Look out for tips about dealing  with condensation and mould on our website and Facebook page.

Money Matters

With Black Friday deals all around, it can be challenging to keep to a budget and manage your money.

It is easy to feel pressured to spend more at this time of year. Getting behind on your rent payments can mean rent arrears can escalate quickly and are difficult to pay off if they’re not managed correctly.

Please remember to pay your rent first. If you need help and advice, please get in touch, we can make sure you are claiming any benefits you are entitled to by contacting the Money Matters team or your Income officer.

Working in partnership to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour

Problems of drugs, anti-social behaviour and criminal activity can be difficult to deal with and take a lot of time to resolve but we work together with community support groups, local councillors and partner agencies to actively address the problems.

If you have worries about illegal activity near where you live you can report it directly to the police, tell us and we will raise it too, in Police tasking meetings. You can also report it anonymously at Crime Stoppers, telephone 0800 555 111.
