Brass Band on the Circus Tomorrow!
There’s a brass band concert on Belle Isle Circus this Friday, run in partnership with Opera North. We know a lot of the older residents around the Circus are attending and children are coming over from Windmill Primary. There are 30-minute performances at 11.45am and 12.45pm, along with free tea and cake. Please come and see some or all of it if you are free.
Petition for Safe Pedestrian Access to the Circus
We hope the concert is the first of many events on the Circus. But we know getting onto the Circus – whether it is part of a walking route or to enjoy the open green space - is hard because of the traffic. Trevor, Gerry and John are BITMO Board members who live close to the Circus who have started a petition to get safe pedestrian access. Please sign the petition and share this link https://www.change.org/BelleIsleCircus .
It’s the Belle Isle Gala on Saturday. There’s something for everyone, and everything will be free or low cost. Please come on foot or bus if you can. If you are driving, the car park of Springwell Academy opposite Coopers Field will be open 12-3pm. Please don’t park in Windmill Road or on the Belle Isle Road central verge.
Here is the timetable for the live acts and perfomances.
The police and Leeds Anti-Social Behaviour Team will be in BITMO’s GATE tomorrow (Friday) from 9.30-11.30am. No appointment necessary, just drop in. You can get a free breakfast at the same time (donations welcome).
Here’s the programme for the first three weeks of the BITMO summer holiday playscheme. We will send out weeks 4-6 in August. There are also great Healthy Holidays schemes run at different centres around Belle Isle.
You never expect things to go wrong at home, but it could happen, ruining or destroying the things you love and need. Contents insurance financially protects the contents in your home, garage, and shed – such as your clothes, furniture, TV, kitchen appliances, gadgets, and garden tools.
If something happens in your home like a fire or a leak, insurance can help to pay for the damage. You can’t assume that BITMO will cover any loss of household items. So it’s important that you take out contents insurance for items that might need replacing in the event of a fire. If the worst happens, you could claim on your insurance, and if covered, this would pay to repair or replace your contents. That’s why we’ve given it our thumbs-up.
Visit home contents insurance today for more information on how to get cover.
With 28,000 households on the Leeds Homes Register, there’s high demand for social housing. Mutual Exchange can help tenants find a home that suits them faster than waiting through the usual bidding process. It also benefits Housing Leeds by making better use of existing homes and reducing rent loss and empty property costs.
First try to book a collection through Leeds City Council.
If this does not work for you, the Leeds Accredited Waste Carrier Scheme helps you find someone local, legal and responsible to take away excess waste.
