Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust’s Digital Offer for Patients: Briefing Event for Community Partners

100% Digital Leeds and Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust are hosting a briefing event giving community partners the opportunity to hear more about the Trust’s new digital offer for patients. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and to share any thoughts or feedback.
The briefing will cover:
- A walk through of the Trust’s Digital Letters roll out.
- A preview of the Trust’s new Digital Portal for patients.
- Information about the Trust’s new screening questions to better understand the digital inclusion needs of their patients.
- An update on the Trust’s new Digital, Data and Technology Strategy.
- Information about what digital inclusion support is available across the city.
Digital Volunteering Matchmaking Event 2025
Leeds Digital Volunteering Partnership is hosting an in-person networking event on Tuesday 29 April, from 10am to midday. The aim of the event is to foster collaboration between Leeds’s charity and tech sectors, increasing the city’s capacity to support digital inclusion.
We’re looking for attendees who represent either a business or VCSE organisation based in, or delivering services in, Leeds. Representatives should be organisational leaders with enough influence to action any commitments made. Example roles include CSR/ESG Leads, Volunteer Managers, and Digital Inclusion Officers.

Combatting Data Poverty with Jangala
100% Digital Leeds has partnered with technology charity Jangala and the city's third sector to connect more people to the internet with Jangala’s ‘Get Box’ - a 'plug in' wifi solution available free of charge to people experiencing data poverty. Digital Inclusion in Primary Care
100% Digital Leeds is working in partnership with the Primary Care Transformation team in Leeds supporting digital inclusion to be embedded into their actioning of the delivery plan for recovering access to primary care, and in the implementation of digital tools such as the NHS App and Patchs.
They delivered a collaborative NHS App webinar for staff to increase awareness of the features and benefits of the NHS app and to increase understanding of digital inclusion and exclusion. To increase capacity in delivering digital health support, 100% Digital Leeds has partnered with Virgin Media O2, supporting their Connect More Digital Skills Programme to be piloted in GP Practices across Leeds. This webinar led by researchers at the Centre for Health Promotion Research at Leeds Beckett University will share the results of a recently completed NIHR School for Social Care study in partnership with 100% Digital Leeds. The research looks to better understand how voluntary and community sector enterprise (VCSE) organisations use technology effectively to help deliver services for adults who are autistic or have learning disabilities.

Carers Leeds - Digital Support Service
Carers Leeds offers one-to-one sessions designed to build confidence in using technology, devices and the internet. This service helps individuals develop essential digital skills, whether they are complete beginners or looking to enhance their knowledge. Sessions cover key digital activities such as video calls, online shopping, managing health appointments and accessing online services. Morley Digital Face-to-Face Drop-Ins and Online Support
Every Monday, 1pm to 3pm, Salvation Army Building, LS27 8PZ
Join Morley Digital's face-to-face digital drop-in sessions aimed at helping you get the most out of your digital devices, including laptops, iPads, smartphones, tablets, smart speakers (Alexa, etc.), and digital cameras. Topics covered include setting up and configuring your device, safe web browsing, online banking, and accessing government services.

Get Free Help with the NHS App at O2 Stores in Leeds
From 5th May, you can bring your phone or tablet, along with a photo ID, to the following O2 stores for support with the NHS app:

SIM Gifting from Leeds Libraries
To support people struggling with the cost-of-living crisis, community hubs and libraries across Leeds have SIMs available with up to six months unlimited calls and texts plus data to help people stay in touch and get online.
People can be signposted to Central Library, Armley Community Hub and Library, Reginald Centre Community Hub and Library, Compton Centre Community Hub and Library, Dewsbury Road Community Hub and Library.

Tablet Lending from Leeds Libraries
Leeds Libraries can support community organisations’ digital inclusion programmes by lending iPads with data to be used with service users. Please email Leeds Libraries to express an interest.
iPads are also available for individuals to borrow at Armley Community Hub and Library, Compton Centre Community Hub and Library, Headingley Community Hub and Library, Holt Park Community Hub and Library, Hunslet Community Hub and Library, Reginald Centre Community Hub and Library, Seacroft Community Hub and Library. People can be signposted to any of these sites to borrow an iPad for up to eight weeks. Proof of address is required to borrow a device.

Digital Drop-Ins at Leeds Libraries
Every week there are several digital drop-ins at libraries around the city, supporting people to use their tablet, smartphone or computer to try something new. People can take their device or use a library PC and talk to friendly librarians who will help them get started. Find the dates and locations of the Digital Drop-Ins on the Leeds Inspired website.
Free Data through the National Databank at O2 stores
O2 is offering free mobile data to those most in need, helping people stay connected to essential services like banking, job hunting, and staying in touch. Leeds O2 stores at Trinity, White Rose, and Crossgates now provide SIMs via the National Databank.

AbilityNet - How Going Digital Can Save You Money

AbilityNet invites individuals to a free webinar exploring how going digital can help save money. The session will focus on practical ways to cut costs by using online tools and services, with expert guidance on accessing pensioner benefits and financial information from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Aimed at older adults and those facing common challenges, the webinar will highlight online savings tips, benefit calculators, Pension Credit, and trusted digital resources. Catalyst - UK Digital, Justice and Equity Grant Makers Library
The UK Digital, Justice and Equity Grant Makers Library is a live, non-comprehensive list of funding opportunities that support digital, justice, and equity work. It includes programmes that are open to unsolicited applications and welcomes those exploring digital engagement, from anti-racism initiatives to climate justice projects. Jangala - Digital Inclusion Cards
Jangala’s Digital Inclusion Cards are an open-source resource designed to support digital engagement. These printable cards highlight different online activities and can be used flexibly for community facilitation, research, or interactive workshops. Designed for in-person use, they help explore digital behaviours, identify learning priorities, and understand concerns around online access. ALDASO - Keeping Adults with a Learning Disability or Autism Safe Online
ALDASO is an online platform designed to help adults with learning disabilities or autism stay safe online. The website offers guidance on recognising and avoiding online risks, preventing cybercrime, and finding support when needed. It covers key topics such as fraud, online grooming, harmful content, and safer socialising. Users can explore specific areas, including chat rooms, harassment, and stalking, with practical advice on navigating the digital world securely. 100% Digital Leeds are keen to support the development of any funding bids with a digital inclusion element, or to help you embed digital inclusion throughout your project. If you would like support contact us.
Some funding links will take you through to the Funding Leeds website and you will need to register to access the information. Once you have registered for free you will have access to a national database of funding sources and get regular email updates on your funding area of interests.
Leeds Building Society - Fund 150
Grants are available to not-for-profit organisations across the UK supporting those in need of a safe and secure home.
Amount: Up to £30,000.
Deadline: 16 May.

Leeds Community Foundation - Community Action Microgrants
Grants are available to small and grassroots organisations in Leeds for citizen-led projects and community development activity promoting equality, inclusion, and community cohesion.

Grants are available for not-for-profit organisations, including schools, statutory or public bodies, serving communities in England for activities that support places, people or communities experiencing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination and support people and communities to shape the decisions that affect their lives.
