BITMO Annual Report to Tenants

BITMO Annual Report to Tenants 2024

BITMO has published an annual report for 2024, giving you information about how BITMO managed the estate over the 12 months. It was also the year that 93% of tenants who took part voted for BITMO to carry on managing Belle Isle for the next five years. You can read the report here.

The report gives a lot of information about how BITMO is managing Belle Isle and how that affects you and your community. For example if you want to move to a 3-bed house, you can read that there are 404 of them, but only 5 became available last year. You can read how many kitchens, bathrooms and boilers BITMO replaced last year out of the 1834 homes on the estate. If you have ideas about how the running of Belle Isle could be improved, could you be a BITMO Board member?

You are also welcome to come and see what’s happening and get free tea, coffee and a toastie. There’s also the Belle Isle Gala planning meeting at 3pm – please come and give your ideas about what could happen there and help run the day.

Surveys for Housing Leeds

Making your own improvements and alterations to your home

Leeds City Council are thinking about making changes to the improvements and alterations you can make to your home. Alterations are improvements, additions or structural changes to your home that you do at your own expense with BITMO’s written permission.

Why are Leeds proposing changes to the current approach?

They need to consider the long-term impact, costs to repairs and maintenance related to tenant alterations.

They want to reduce delays to mutual exchanges or moves into a council property, related to putting right tenant alterations.

They want to clarify responsibility for ongoing maintenance of tenant installations and be fair to tenants who follow the permissions process correctly.

To do this in a fair and transparent way, they would like to include tenants views before making any changes.

The survey will take between 5-10 minutes, over 4 pages. The last day that you can respond is 24 February 2025.

Responding to your individual needs

Housing Leeds are developing a policy on the adjustments they offer to help meet the needs of individual customers for Housing Leeds tenants (including BITMO), leaseholders, or applicants on the Leeds Homes Register.

Please complete this short survey by 14 February. It is 4 pages and should take you around 5 minutes. Your feedback will help Housing Leeds to shape their policy. The information you provide will not update your individual records.
