Rescue Me - Recycle!

This Recycle Week, join the urgent crusade to save five packaging heroes from being rubbished, and keep them out of the bin and living the circular life, through recycling them in your green bin.

The latest Recycle Now research shows that while we’re a nation of recyclers - nine out of ten people regularly recycle – nearly eight out of ten of us (79%) put one or more items into the rubbish bin that could have been recycled.

The condemned containers include Dee Dee the deodorant, Rey the plastic trigger spray, Yogi the yoghurt pot, Fitz the perfume bottle and humble Hube - the toilet roll tube.

COMPETITION - Design a Leeds recycling superhero!

Young people can play their part by joining us in this amazing national campaign!

To make recycling fun, we’ve launched a Design a Leeds Recycling Superhero” poster competition for primary school aged children (4-11)! They can create their very own recycling hero and show everyone how to see recyclable items as treasures, not just trash.

There are fantastic cash prizes up for grabs for their school:

  • 1st Prize: £100 + a ‘Rescue Me’ recycling game for your school!
  • 2nd Prize: £50 for your school!
  • 3rd Prize: £50 for your school!
