Empowerment Through Technology: Donate your digital equipment for good
For this year’s Leeds Digital Festival, 100% Digital Leeds hosted a webinar ‘Empowerment Through Technology: Donate your digital equipment for good’, in partnership with Solidaritech. The webinar was developed by Leeds Digital Volunteering Partnership, as part of 100% Digital Leeds’s Tech sector support key initiative. People Matters supports people with learning disabilities and other hidden disabilities to reach their full potential. They offer individual support to their members citywide, at home, and in community settings. Morley Digital face to face drop-ins and online support

RETAS - Digital Skills Classes

Improve your digital skills by signing up for Digital Skills Classes at RETAS (Refugee Education Training Advice Service). The sessions cover a range of topics, including using a computer, managing files and folders, editing documents, digital safety and security, using the internet, communication tools, and an introduction to Excel. Groundwork Yorkshire workshops
All activities take place at Groundwork, LS27 9SL.
Digital Skills Workshop - starts 1 October, 10:00am - 1:00pm. The sessions will run weekly for 10 weeks every Tuesday.
This workshop is ideal for those looking to develop their digital abilities. Participants will gain hands-on experience with practical digital skills.
Family History Online - starts 1 October, 2:00pm - 5:00pm. The sessions will run weekly for 10 weeks every Tuesday.
This course is designed to improve digital literacy through family history research. Learners will work individually, in small groups, and with a tutor.

#ChronicallyMe: Social media stories of chronic illness

Introduction of the Carers Digital Resource
Carers UK has developed a new platform designed to provide carers with access to a wide range of practical, emotional, and financial support resources. Access e-learning modules, comprehensive guides, and tools tailored to your needs. Additionally, carers can access the free care coordination app, Jointly, to streamline caregiving tasks and discover how technology can offer peace of mind. Get Online Week 2024
Get Online Week is just around the corner, running from Monday 14 October to 20 October 2024. Help support PhD research into digital exclusion and public service broadcasting
Researchers at the University of Liverpool are exploring how people in the UK without digital access might be impacted if the BBC and other public service broadcasters became online-only. They aim to conduct focus groups with digitally excluded adults between September and November to gain insights from those most affected. If you are interested in assisting this research by hosting a focus group for your service users, there is an opportunity to get involved. CAST Digital Leads Network
CAST's Digital Leads Network (DLN) is a dynamic community of over 100 members, focused on promoting best practices and peer-to-peer learning across the charity sector. Through the DLN, members benefit from free masterclasses, meetups, and an AI peer group. New member places are opened periodically, with the next round of applications being reviewed in mid-October. Those interested in joining can submit an application through the CAST website. Through the Charity Digital Exchange, your organisation can access Autodesk software, including a one-year AutoCAD subscription for a single user. This allows installation on one computer and includes 25 GB of A360 cloud storage. Non-profits can use Autodesk to create 3D models of infrastructure, products, entertainment content, and more. CAST - Shared Digital Guides
CAST has launched the Shared Digital Guides platform, a valuable resource featuring over 80 step-by-step guides to digital tools, created by charities for charities. This platform enables non-profit organisations to share practical advice on how to effectively use digital tools to improve their services and operations. International Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Mobile UK’s How Connected Are You? report delves into the role of connectivity in our everyday lives. SAVVI Playbook - iStandUK
iStandUK has introduced the Scalable Approach to Vulnerability Via Interoperability (SAVVI) playbook, an innovative resource aimed at improving how organisations identify and assist vulnerable individuals. This playbook is a collaborative initiative, hosted by Tameside Council on behalf of the UK’s local public sector, with support from the Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government (MHCLG) as part of the Local Digital Fund. Funding
100% Digital Leeds are keen to support the development of any funding bids with a digital inclusion element, or to help you embed digital inclusion throughout your project. If you would like support contact us.
Some funding links will take you through to the Funding Leeds website and you will need to register to access the information. Once you have registered for free you will have access to a national database of funding sources and get regular email updates on your funding area of interests.
The Hedley Foundation awards grants to those charities that are able to demonstrate quantifiable outcomes to beneficiaries. Typically, grants of up to £5,000 are regularly made and occasional larger sums are given to charities where high impact can be achieved. Similarly, smaller charities often benefit from smaller grants of £250 upwards. The Foundation accepts grant applications for IT equipment costs.
Amount: Up to £5,000.
Deadline: 2 October.

Embedding Prevention of Veteran Suicide Programme
Grants are available for projects that will enable systemic change and long-term, sustainable impact in supporting Armed Forces Veterans with poor mental health, their families, and those who are caring for or supporting them.
Amount: Up to £100,000 (for projects lasting up to two years).
Deadline: 2 October.

Jerwood Foundation
Grants are available for arts organisations across the UK to support a variety of projects and activities that make the arts available for public benefit.
Amount: Discretionary, with grants typically ranging from £1,000 to £25,000.

Charles Plater Trust
Grants are available to local charities in England and Wales for projects that promote social justice through education. The funding can support initiatives that enhance organisational capacity, tackle poverty, and address exclusion.
Amount: The following levels of grants are available:
- Small grants of between £1,000 and £5,000.
- Medium grants of between £5,001 and £60,000.

Fight for Sight Social Change Fund
Grants are available for not-for-profit organisations in the UK to deliver innovative and sustainable projects including digital inclusion that support and empower children and young people living in the UK who are blind and vision impaired.

Grants are available for not-for-profit organisations working in specific under-served geographic areas across the UK to reach under-served and marginalised children and young people.
Amount: Up to £15,000 per year for up to three years.

Archives Revealed - Cataloguing Grants
Grants are available to public sector bodies, registered charities, and other not-for-profit organisations in the UK to create catalogues of important archival collections.
Amount: Up to £50,000.

Triangle Trust 1949 Fund
Grants are available for charities, not-for-profit social enterprises and community interest companies in the UK that are working to support young people with criminal convictions or young people at high risk of offending for the first time. In 2024, the focus is specifically on young women and girls who have been in the criminal justice system or who are at a high risk of entering it.
Amount: Up to £80,000.
Deadline: 30 October.

Home Instead Charities
Grants are available for small grassroots community groups and small local registered charities that are providing activities and projects to prevent social isolation and loneliness for older people (the over 55s) in the UK.
Amount: Up to £1,500.

British Science Week - Community Grant Scheme
Grants are available for community-based groups and organisations in the UK to create events or activities that engage underrepresented audiences as part of British Science Week (BSW). The fund description states digital and hybrid physical/digital activities can be supported.
