Digital Inclusion West Yorkshire
West Yorkshire Combined Authority has secured funding to create a digital inclusion programme that will help people and communities across the region. The programme will deliver the priority actions in the West Yorkshire Digital Skills plan. Digital Inclusion West Yorkshire will build on the success of 100% Digital Leeds. The programme will use the 100% Digital Leeds Community-based approach to digital inclusion as the template to develop local digital inclusion initiatives in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.
Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, will host an event on 15 November where you can find out more about the regional digital inclusion programme. The event includes speakers from across the region, including 100% Digital Leeds.

Older People's Digital Inclusion Network
This month the Older People’s Digital Inclusion Network came together to celebrate the network members’ efforts to support digital inclusion in 2023 and identify shared priorities for 2024.

Leeds digital inclusion fund update
100% Digital Leeds and Leeds Community Foundation are celebrating a £100,000 investment, raised from the proceeds of the Leeds Digital Ball 2023. Ten community organisations across Leeds have received grants of up to £10,000 to help tackle digital exclusion. From Digital Health Hubs enabling people to access the services they need, to providing refugees and asylum seekers with the skills and equipment to access online benefits, as well as employment opportunities supporting the rehabilitation and resettlement of young offenders, the fund continues to help those who face the greatest degree of digital exclusion.

Tackling data poverty
In September 100% Digital Leeds hosted two events sharing Leeds's approach to tackling digital poverty. The events focussed on raising awareness of Good Things Foundation‘s, National Databank, an initiative which provides free mobile data, texts and calls to people in need via the charity’s network of community partners.

This Digital Culture Network webinar will explore what digital accessibility is and the role it plays in creating successful content. It's perfect for someone taking their first steps in a digital accessibility learning journey.

Training and networking opportunities from Good Things Foundation
Good Things Foundation have a series of training and networking opportunities to support organisations in their digital inclusion offer. To attend, organisations need to be a member of their National Digital Inclusion Network. The network is free to join.

Digital inclusion for older people meet-up
7 November, 11am - 12 noon, online.
This is an open forum for hubs that support older people to get online to share good practice, ask for support and ideas and find out about useful resources and opportunities. This meet-up will focus on media literacy to support older people to identify trustworthy information online and avoid harmful or misleading information.
Using Learn My Way to help older learners get online
16 November, 2 - 3pm, online.
Go-Woman Alliance share experiences of supporting older people to get online using Learn My Way and a very holistic approach to digital inclusion.
Technology for life by RNIB
22 November, 10 - 11am, online.
RNIB's Technology for Life team offer free support and information to support blind and partially sighted people to make their devices work for them. This session will give an introduction to the type of accessibility features, apps and devices available and how the Technology for Life team can help.
Supporting older people to use digital
4 December, 2 - 3pm, online.
Lincs Digital share their learning about what works to help older people get online from their work with Good Things Foundation's National Digital Inclusion Network.
Digital support for people living with dementia
7 December, 10 - 11am, online.
Digital Essex share their work across the county to support people with dementia to use digital and how digital can be used to support people living with dementia and their carers.
Funding
100% Digital Leeds are keen to support the development of any funding bids with a digital inclusion element, or to help you embed digital inclusion throughout your project. Contact us if you would like support.
Some funding links will take you through to the Funding Leeds website and you will need to register to be able to access the information. Once you have registered for free you will have access to a national database of funding sources and get regular email updates on your funding area of interests.
EA Foundation
Funding for UK registered charities for projects which align to the Foundation’s funding priorities including providing educational opportunities, particularly for disadvantaged individuals and communities and supporting people in reduced circumstances, without sufficient means, or those who are experiencing times of need thereby providing important support for the relief of poverty or other forms of disadvantage such as disability.
Amount: There is no specified upper or lower grant limits. Average grants are £20,000 to £50,000.

Make it Big with Pathway Fund
Grants are available for charities and social enterprises to deliver enterprise projects that help build organisational resilience and address racial equity in terms of climate change and poverty alleviation. This fund aims to support charities and social enterprises with grant funding, bespoke support, and training, to help groups build operational readiness and financial resilience, raise social investment, and in some instances, prepare for asset acquisition.
Amount: £30,000
Deadline: 15 November

HPOC resilience grants fund
This fund is to support the resilience and capacity of the VCSE sector across West Yorkshire. Organisations working particularly with diverse communities addressing health inequalities are invited to apply for grants for the purposes of increasing their resilience through building their capacity to income generate for the future.
Amount: £500 to £3,000
Deadline: 24 November

Thomas Wall Trust
Grants are available for UK registered charities for specific projects or core activities that equip disadvantaged people aged 18 and over with the necessary communication skills for employment. As an inclusive charity, the Trust welcomes proposals which target people experiencing multiple deprivation or other groups demonstrably facing major hurdles to employment, such as women, people with physical, mental, or learning disabilities, refugees and asylum seekers.
Amount: Up to £5,000
Deadline: 8 January 2024

Leeds City College Festival of Learning
6 - 16 November, various locations
The Festival of Learning is a national campaign that celebrates the achievements of, and opportunities available to adult learners. Have a Go Fortnight showcases the wide range of adult learning opportunities available across the Leeds City Region including Have a Go Coding, Everyday IT Skills and Digital Futures – Software Engineering Taster Session. Carers Leeds coffee and paste digital sessions
Every 2 weeks on a Wednesday. Next session 1 November, 11am - 12 noon, at Carers Leeds 6 - 8 The Headrow, LS1 6PT

Perhaps you want to feel safer browsing the web or would like to make the most out of your device and its features to benefit your own health and wellbeing? Carers Leeds are holding digital skills workshops where they will be teaching different digital topics in a relaxed and welcoming environment, including emails, online safety and online shopping.

Middleton Elderly Aid online timetable
Every Thursday 1pm - 2.30pm at Middleton Elderly Aid Social Centre, LS10 4LF
Middleton Elderly Aid are offering computer classes to assist with all internet-related questions. Whether it's online shopping, connecting with loved ones on Skype, or exploring photos and videos online.
