We'd like to invite organisations across the city to take part in Leeds Safeguarding Week.

It is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of safeguarding with people who use your services, staff teams and volunteers.

You could showcase the work you do to support people to be safe from abuse and neglect, hold a safeguarding themed staff meeting, put up an information stand, or you might like to invite us to give a public awareness talk. It's entirely up to you. 

This year we are teaming up with other Safeguarding Boards in West Yorkshire to put on a programme of information sessions and discussions. We'll be promoting them in future bulletins.

Take Five is a national campaign offering impartial advice to help protect people from financial fraud. Scam Bingo is a free to play game to help people learn about the most common frauds and scams.

Take Five has a range of resources to help you raise awareness about frauds and scams.

The Home Office has published a Forced Marriage Resource Pack to highlight best practice and help ensure that effective support is available to victims.. 

It has case studies, resources produced by statutory and non-statutory organisations, and links to support organisations and helplines.

Social Work Week (20 to 24 March 2023) is for anyone with an interest in social work in England.

Social care institute for excellence (SCIE) is offering these four webinar sessions on Thursday 23 March. 

• Learning from applying the Care Act and looking at strengths-based approaches in social care.
• Applying the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. Why does it matter?
• Co-production: What does good co-production look like and why does it matter?
• Learning from reviews and looking ahead

To help raise public awareness about abuse and neglect, we offer free talks to community organisations and groups.

We can tailor the talk to suit your group. It can be face to face or online, presentations or informal discussions.

We can also bring along an information stand to your meetings or events.

This service is free and can be delivered any time Monday to Friday.
