In July's bulletin we promoted our Annual Report. We appreciate that many of you may not have time to read the full report, so some of our Board members have made a short film about our work to help keep people safe from abuse and neglect, and our future projects.
Hosted by Ann Craft Trust, National Safeguarding Adults Week 2022 is a time for organisations to come together and raise awareness of important safeguarding issues. This year's theme is ‘Responding to Contemporary Safeguarding Challenges’. Each day will focus on a different theme.

The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) has launched a Regional Safeguarding Outreach service, to work more closely with organisations to build and develop relationships, raise awareness of DBS as a safeguarding body and to act as a single point of contact for all DBS related enquiries within their region.

White Ribbon UK engages with men and boys to end violence against women and girls. Their aim is to change harmful attitudes, systems and behaviours around masculinity that perpetuate gender inequality and men’s violence against women.

The Home Office's Domestic Abuse Statutory Guidance is designed to support organisations to identify and respond to domestic abuse and promote best practice.
Domestic abuse takes many forms. Some abusers repeatedly dictate their partner’s choices and everyday actions, and may restrict how they acquire, use and maintain money and economic resources such as housing, food and transport.
Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) is a UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it. Their toolkit is designed to support you to identify whether someone you are working with is experiencing this form of abuse.
The Home Office's new videos with British Sign Language set out UK government guidance on forced marriage. Content includes:
- Statutory guidance for organisations with responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults
- Multi-agency practice guidelines for frontline workers on handling cases of forced marriage
This briefing is produced by the Local Government Association. It forms part of a larger piece of work, activities and resources, to gain a better understanding of discriminatory abuse, how to recognise equality characteristics, unconscious bias and discrimination in safeguarding adults practice, approaches and strategies.
From 1 July 2022, all registered health and social care providers must ensure that their staff receive training in learning disability and autism, including how to interact appropriately with autistic people and people who have a learning disability.
