Global Entrepreneurship Week
We're celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week on 14-20 November, aimed at making it easier for anyone, anywhere, to start and scale their business. We'll be running events at libraries across West Yorkshire for aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators and small business owners to make connections with others and cover some of the fundamentals of starting up and running a business.

Planning for your business, Wakefield Library, 14 November - find out how to develop your business plan for your small business. Ideal for those in the early stages of setting up or wanting a refresh on the basics of business planning.

Marketing and getting to know your customers, Central Library, Halifax, 15 November - learn how to market your business more effectively by getting to grips with your customer's needs. Perfect for aspiring business owners or those already trading and wanting to refresh their marketing and promotion.

Business drop-ins: find out about the support available at Dewsbury Library, 16 November - chat through your business questions with a cup of coffee, look through some of the available resources to help with your business research, and meet other start-ups and businesses in the local area.

Networking evening at Leeds Central Library
Networking is a key part of any business and can help you share knowledge with others and create new opportunities.
Most of us are getting back to networking but it can seem a little daunting for those unsure where to start; in this interactive session you’ll learn about the importance of networking and how to build new connections from an expert speaker.
And, most importantly, you’ll be able to put your skills to practice by doing your own networking and making new connections at the event!

Get Ready for Business Growth
The Business & IP Centre's Get Ready for Business Growth is a free, three-month programme that can help you launch a new product, reach new markets and explore new opportunities.
Every three months, 25 creative, UK based businesses will receive specialist support and tailored one-to-one advice from BIPC’s business experts, to help you become more resilient and adaptable in the face of a changing future. The free programme is run digitally and the one-to-one meetings with the consultants are by video conference. Find out more and apply here.
Get festive with Klara's Gingerbread
Klara makes and hand decorates her own gingerbread biscuits - each piece made using a traditional Hungarian recipe and intricately decorated to make a perfect, edible Christmas decoration.
Klara also runs workshops for people of all ages to relax, have fun and learn how to decorate their own gingerbread biscuits.
Klara first came across the Business & IP Centre after attending our Start-up Leeds programme, getting support on a range of topics - from social media to tax and bookkeeping.

Our top pick of the month has been selected by one of our business librarians at Leeds Central Library. 'The creatives guide to starting a business: how to turn your talent into a career' by Harriet Kelsall is an inspirational guide covering the best way to create pieces that sell, write a business plan, promote your business, and much more. Find the book across Leeds Libraries or pop into your nearest BIPC to browse the book collections.
