Events and training

100% Digital Leeds host regular events bringing together organisations locally and nationally who want to do more to support the digital inclusion of their communities. Upcoming events and videos of previous events can be found on the 100% Digital Leeds website.

‘Meeting Virtually’ training session

This Leeds Health and Care Academy workshop looks at the different elements of face-to-face meetings, and how they translate virtually and in a hybrid setting. The session will provide a space to stop and explore current activity, and look into best practice for in-person, virtual, and hybrid meetings, as well as looking at what we should be avoiding.

This session is suitable for anybody currently facilitating meetings, whether they’re large, small, virtual or hybrid. This session will be repeated on a quarterly basis. Leeds Health and Care Academy is open to anyone from the health and care workforce, including third sector.

‘Leading Virtually’ training session

These Leeds Health and Care Academy workshops support learning around managing and leading teams both virtually and in a hybrid environment. The main focus of these workshops is the sharing of best practice in relation to the management of individuals, the management of team dynamics, and management of change and ambiguity.

Leeds Health and Care Academy is open to anyone from the health and care workforce, including third sector.

Digital inclusion support for unpaid carers

Free one-to-one digital support to empower unpaid carers to feel confident using technology. Carers Leeds can provide support to help people gain confidence in using smart phones, tablets and laptops; as well as helping people learn how to access internet services. Find out more about the support available.

  • Accessing and using equipment and devices to get online
  • SIM cards with internet data
  • Support to help you to become confident using technology
  • Support in using different apps or programmes such as games, online shopping, video calling and online banking

Digital Services at Burmantofts Senior Action

BSA offer drop in sessions, 1-to-1 help, training and assist with access to tablets, smart phones, laptop and data. The BSA team are on hand if you need help in any of these areas. 

Breakfast Club & Digital Drop-In: Mondays, 11:00am -1:00pm

Start the week the right way by sharing a hot drink and a sandwich, toast or muffins with friends at the BSA office. Starts 15th August. There is time to ask any questions about digital and to try out devices and use the internet while you are here.

Refreshment charge: £1.50

Digital One-to-One Sessions: Tuesdays 10:00am – 12:00pm

If you need some one-to-one support with any tech-related or online questions, you can come to the offices and we’ll help you with any issues you may have, like setting up a new phone, signing up for email, making video calls etc. Call to make an appointment or drop in if you’re happy to wait. List of best apps for managing multiple sclerosis

AbilityNet has curated a list of apps useful to people with MS including tracking medication, meeting others to find support, game apps to boost cognition, mindfulness options to increase calmness and fitness apps. All apps are available for both Android and Apple unless otherwise stated. And, all apps are free unless otherwise stated, with occasional subscription options for more features.

Join the National Databank

Good Things Foundation is working with Virgin Media O2, Vodafone and Three to make sure no one is left without an internet connection.

If your organisation supports people who can’t afford broadband at home and struggle to pay for mobile phone contracts or top ups, you can register to get free mobile data SIMS and vouchers to distribute to people who need them.

The UK National Databank was set up for organisations that are members of the Online Centres Network. If you’re not a member yet, it’s free and easy to get involved.

There are lots of organisations in Leeds signed up to the National Databank, it would be fantastic to see even more!

Funding opportunities 

100% Digital Leeds are keen to support the development of any funding bids with a digital inclusion element, or to help you embed digital inclusion throughout your project. If you would like support contact us 

UK Healthy Heart Grant

Up to £10,000 to community groups and new, innovative local projects that promote a healthy heart and help reduce the risk of developing heart disease in Yorkshire and Humber. More information and to apply.

International Day of Older People 2022 Community Event Grants

Community groups and organisations can now apply for grants of up to £300 to run an event to celebrate International Day of Older People (IDOP) in Leeds. The IDOP theme this year is ‘The resilience and contributions of older women.’

See the IDOP 2022 grants pack for details of what you can apply to do, and how to apply. 

100% Digital Leeds are keen to support any applications with a digital inclusion element, including those that will give older people and organisations supporting older people the opportunity to engage with digital in fun and creative ways.

Stay Well this Winter Grants

Leeds Community Foundation has launched the 2022 Stay Well This Winter Grants with funding from Leeds City Council Public Health. The grants will support a range of community-based projects in Leeds.

Applicants should target support to vulnerable people who are most at risk of becoming unwell over winter, due to cold and severe weather. Projects should take place during the winter of 2022-23.

This is a great opportunity to develop your digital inclusion offer to best support those in need this winter, contact us to chat through your ideas or receive support with your bid.

Grants can be £500 to £2,500 for local and city-wide projects

How are you doing, Leeds?

These are tough times dealing with post-pandemic recovery and now financial worries. Pressure on mental health and care services is increasing but you can help to shape future provision in Leeds in just a few minutes.

Go to the Leeds Health & Care Partnership’s survey “How are you doing, Leeds?” and tell us what you think.

Whether you have used services yourself, are a carer or friend of somebody with lived experience of mental health or have other ways of looking after your mental health, we want to hear from you.

You can do the survey from home or by visiting one of the city’s community or digital hubs or libraries.

The survey closes on 15 September 2022.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals: Website Survey

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust are improving their website, and you can help by completing this short survey. Your feedback will help the team to design a better website so that everyone can find the information that they need.

This survey shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes to complete and closes on 12th August.
