Dear entrepreneur

It was our regional launch event for the Business & IP Centre Leeds City Region last month. We were delighted to see so many of you come along to find out more about our expansion across West Yorkshire, see our new space at Leeds Central Library, and hear from our speakers and panellists.

Our new Centres across West Yorkshire will be officially launching over the next few weeks, read more about the first launch and upcoming events below.

Free support with Calderdale Libraries

BIPC local at Central Library, Halifax is formally launching this Thursday (12 May). If you're wanting to set up a business in and around Halifax, or you help people into self-employment, register to join the event here.

At the event you'll hear from the CEO of The Piece Hall, an 18th century cloth hall which is now home to independent shops, cafes and bars, as well as Elena - one of our fantastic Business & IP Centre users who accessed free support to start-up her ceramics business.

Get to know our exclusive resources

As part of the Business & IP Centre network, we have access to a range of exclusive online resources to help you conduct your business research, find out about your customers and competitors, identify funding, and much more.

We're running a free session looking at COBRA (Complete Business Reference Advisor), a useful resource that provides lots of information, business guides and fact sheets. Register for the session on 31 May.

Meet Elena, one of our local entrepreneurs

Elena creates handmade ceramics, taking inspiration from nature and the places of her childhood, waves and rocks by the Sardinian Sea. Elena also combines her love for creativity with positive mental health and wellbeing through locally held craft workshops.

After joining our Start-up Leeds programme, Elena has been able to get going with her business and network with fellow entrepreneurs and small business owners. We'll be hearing more about Elena's start-up journey at Halifax this Thursday, so make sure you come along to hear more.
