Health and Wellbeing in Leeds Libraries
Thursday 27 January 2022, 11am to 12 midday
Leeds has a wealth of libraries, for both the public and for health professionals. All Leeds’ libraries have a role to play in helping people to learn about health, in reducing health inequalities, and in promoting health and wellbeing for all.
At this session you will learn about the health and wellbeing offers available to the public through Leeds Libraries, and to professionals through Leeds Health Libraries. You will find out about helpful events and resources in your local library that you can signpost people to for information and support; and about training and resources that can help you have informed and effective conversations with others about health and wellbeing.
This session is suitable for anyone working to improve health and wellbeing in Leeds, such as staff and volunteers within the health, social care, community and voluntary sectors.
The session will cover:
- how Leeds Libraries are supporting the 5 Ways to Wellbeing
- health and wellbeing events and activities in Leeds Libraries
- loanable resources that link to health, such as Books on Prescription
- training and resources available to help you discuss health matters with others
- volunteering opportunities at public libraries, such as Reading Friends
This session will be delivered by Lisa Faulks from Leeds Libraries and Becky Cumberworth from the Public Health Resource Centre.
