A Safe Place is somewhere a person with a learning disability can go and ask for help if they are lost, frightened or in difficulty. They look for the Safe Place logo being displayed in a nearby window and show their membership card there. The staff at the Safe Place then telephone the number on the card and speak to someone who can assist.
If you are an organisation that would like to become a registered Safe Place there is a short application form, disability awareness training is provided if required, and you will get a Safe Place sticker to display in your window.

The real-life story of a survivor of domestic servitude has become the inspiration behind a new online animation for the communities of West Yorkshire. It highlights the signs, raises awareness and encourages reporting of this hidden crime.
