Alistair Brownlee has given his seal of approval to our new e-cargo bikes. Battery assisted with a large storage area, zero emissions and zero associated costs on road tax or parking, e-cargo bikes are perfect for local deliveries.

 Plans progress for a COVID-19 memorial wood
Almost 50 hectares of new public parkland including a COVID-19 memorial wood is set to be developed on the former South Leeds Golf course next to Middleton Park. The green space is to be created in partnership with the Leeds Hospitals Charity and will also be dedicated to frontline workers. 5km of walking trails, 9,000 trees and a wildflower meadow will provide space for reflection and recreation. Construction of new South Leeds rail station set to commence this year
Construction work on the new White Rose railway station in South Leeds could now start as early as this autumn. The station is expected to connect communities such as Cottingley, Churwell and Millshaw to jobs, education and training opportunities. Climate Encounters Festival from Yorkshire Dance
From 2-4 July, Yorkshire Dance is asking how can we dance to a sustainable future? This short festival has a packed programme of film screenings, talks, workshops, and performances.  School Uniform Exchange
If you’re wondering what to do with outgrown uniform, look no further than Zero Waste Leeds’ School Uniform Exchange. A year on from its launch, the scheme has a searchable map and Facebook groups to help you find specific schools and get swapping. Leeds Glass Recycling

 We always want to highlight organisations in Leeds that are taking steps to reduce their emissions and help tackle the climate emergency.
Search Laboratory, a global digital marketing company operating in Leeds, has committed to become carbon neutral by 2023. The company has taken impressive steps to hit this target including decommissioning its gas boiler and switching to a 100% renewable electricity supplier.
Other office improvements have included: the installation of electric vehicle charge points, paperless processing, window repairs, green travel incentives and a tree planted for every new employee!
Search Laboratory has been verified carbon neutral for its scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions and is now committed to analysing its supply chain to further reduce emissions.
