24th March - Bin Collection Service Update

Brown bin collections suspended

We have reduced staff numbers due to COVID-19. Black, green and medical bin collections will be collected as usual. Brown bin collections are suspended until further notice. Do not put garden waste in your black or green bin. We will not collect any bins with garden waste in them.

Other options for garden waste

  • Compost garden waste at home
  • Pile garden waste up at the edge of your garden (this is good for wildlife too)
  • Leave grass cuttings on the lawn and do less pruning
  • Check out Zero Waste Leeds for advice

Household Waste Recycling Centres Closed

Following the instruction to close all non-essential businesses, we have closed our household waste recycling centres. Please store bulky items (large items like wood, metal or furniture) and electricals at home until further notice. Do not try to dispose of these items in your household bins. Please do not leave waste outside the Recycling Centres or anywhere else as this is classed as fly tipping and is a criminal offence for which people will be prosecuted.
