Thank you to all involved in Sustainable September 2025!
A massive thank you to all community groups, charities, businesses and residents who hosted and attended Wandsworth’s second Sustainable September this year!
There was an incredible array of 100 events and activities across the borough. Thousands of residents got involved throughout the month, with highlights ranging from a joyful harvest festival at the Paradise Cooperative in Wandsworth and an upcycled fashion show hosted by Transition Town Tooting, to a community gardening event and tabletop sale at the Boyd Court clubroom on the Ashburton Estate.

Empowering place-based community action
The ninth Wandsworth Sustainability Network event, held on 9 September at the Doddington and Rollo Community Centre Roof Garden, was a chance for residents to share their views on the borough’s Biodiversity Action Plan.
A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to complete Biodiversity Action Plan online survey and/or attend one of our mapping workshops. All the feedback we’ve received will now be carefully analysed and considered.
Your input will help shape the aims of the Biodiversity Action Plan and guide which actions should be prioritised — ensuring we have a plan that supports people, places, and nature, now and into the future.

Building Resilient Communities
London Resilient Communities is a London Resilience funded programme that supports the capital’s voluntary, community and faith sectors to be more resilient in the face of emergencies. Free resources, webinars and grants available here.
Local resident Suzanne recently shared at the Wandsworth Sustainability Network about South West London's Resilience Web she has set up! Suzanne would love local groups to add themselves to the web to foster discovery, collaboration and networking between activists.

Little Village
For the third year running, Little Village is running its Winter Warmers Appeal, helping babies and young children stay warm and well through the colder months. Stocks of key items are running low, so we’re encouraging local communities - schools, families and local businesses - to give pre-loved essentials a new lease of love, such as:
- Warm blankets and bedding
- Coats and pramsuits
- Pyjamas
- Boots and weatherproof shoes
- Snuggly clothing and socks
