 Sustainable September is our month of community action across September to tackle climate change and protect nature.
Read about our ambition to become a Carbon Neutral Council by 2030 and make Wandsworth a Net Zero Borough by 2043 in our Wandsworth Environment & Sustainability Strategy and the Wandsworth Climate Change Action Plan 2025, as well as our CDP A rating.

September Wandsworth Sustainability Network
Help shape Wandsworth's new Biodiversity Action plan and have your say on your local green space at our next Wandsworth Sustainability Network.
Tuesday 9 September, 5.30 to 7.30 pm,
All are welcome to attend at the Doddington and Rollo Community Centre and Rooftop Garden where we will kick off our exciting month of Sustainable September and have interactive activities surrounding biodiversity in Wandsworth.

Tooting Repair Club Open Evening Drop-in Session
We're throwing open our doors for a fun and social night all about the repair of our everyday gadgets.
There'll be taster sessions and demos including: soldering, using a multimeter, and the basics of fault finding, plus the chance to see the inner workings of some common household appliances.
If you're an experienced fixer you're sure to meet like-minded souls. If you're simply curious - then this is for you too!

Bespoke Sustainability Tarot Artwork Workshop
Join artist Sophie Dunster, Gung Ho London, and create your very own sustainability inspired tarot artwork. This workshop focuses on the power of symbolism to manifest changes you would like to make within your own lifestyle. Any age and any level is welcome.

Capturing the Forest - Liberty Festival
Capturing the forest is a powerful, multi-media immersive installation exploring access to nature for everyone who isn’t able to. Audiences will be treated to a magical “unforgettable experience” immersed in the essence of a forest landscape, merging sculpture, ceramics, sound, film and movement.

Hibernaculum making in the Forest Garden - Growhampton
Come along and join us in making an underground shelter for reptiles and amphibians in our forest garden. Help them thrive by digging deep, literally - gloves and spades will be provided! Open to all, no need to sign up.

Community Stitching Upcycled Fashion Show
A fashion show of upcycled clothes made by Sewing and Sanctuary and other community sewing/stitching groups, with activity tables where you can learn upcycling techniques. Free refreshments, hosted by Transition Town Tooting. Free (donations optional), no sign-up needed.

Community Walk: Blue and Green Corridors in Wandsworth
A walk to explore the blue and green corridors in Wandsworth connecting up with national and local pathways such as the Wandle Trail, Thames Path, Shakespeare Way and the Capital Ring.
Revealing the diverse ecosystems around us and directly experiencing their beneficial effect on our wellbeing, and our connection to nature. There is a cafe stop approximately halfway. Total walking time around 2 hours. Free, no sign-up needed

Car Free day
Car Free Day is an annual worldwide event that gives communities the chance to leave their car keys at home and imagine a life without traffic. It reduces air pollution and brings families, residents, and communities together in a safe place without the fear of cars, trucks or lorries getting in the way.
Transform your neighbourhood into a buzzing community celebration of Car Free Day by hosting a free street party on either the 20 or 21 September, apply by the 5 September.

Put a lid on it! - Uki and Friends of Woodfield
Join us in creating a large plastic mosaic art piece using bottle caps and repurposed shower curtains. We will hold workshops every Wednesday afternoon. No reservations or comments are necessary—just drop by whenever you feel inspired.

Marvels of the Moth - Enable
Step into the hidden world of moths! Using a special light trap, we’ll safely attract and observe a variety of species, giving you the chance to see these incredible insects up close and learn about their important role in our environment.
Suitable for all ages – under 18s must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.

Southfields Yard Sale Trail
Taking place over two days, the Southfields Yard Sale Trail is going to one of the biggest London has ever seen! The 'Yard Sale Trail' features more than 80 yard sales all across Southfields and the surrounding area, with extra stalls at St Barnabas Church.
Visit the website to download the 'Trail Map' and spend the weekend hunting second hand treasure, original art works and hand made treats.
6 & 7 September, 11am to 5pm, all across Southfields
