Let’s do this together! Wandsworth is going for London Borough of Culture 2025
Wandsworth is the first London borough to officially announce it is going to compete for the title of London Borough of Culture 2025.
Winning the title for 2025 would provide a high-profile showcase for Wandsworth’s communities, creativity and culture as well as attracting investment and job opportunities. It would also be a catalyst for long-term change and help to have a positive impact on local children and young people.
Launching the campaign, Wandsworth Council leader Simon Hogg said: “We’re delighted to be going for London Borough of Culture 2025 – it signals real confidence in a changing, modern Wandsworth. We can’t wait to show London and the world what our wonderful borough has to offer.”
Everyone is invited to work together and support the bid. Engagement sessions and consultations will be running over the summer and early autumn to hear the views of local people, schools, the community and voluntary sector, arts organisations and heritage societies, libraries, health and wellbeing sector and businesses.
