New support programme for hospitality businesses
Wandsworth Council is launching ReCharge – a business support programme for hospitality businesses.
The programme, which is being delivered by food expert Jane Milton and her team, launches in July and will feature a series of themed workshops on topics such as: Managing your businesses’ finance, How to recruit/retain staff and How to do your own PR. Participants will also receive 1-1 mentoring from expert advisers. The programme is open to owners/senior personnel of, Public Houses, restaurants, cafes, hotels etc.

The Re:Create business support programme for creatives is back!
Want to gain essential knowledge on how to grow your creative business? Are you an artist needing support with business essentials? Do you want to engage with other creative entrepreneurs, artists and makers in Wandsworth?
Wandsworth Council in partnership with Creative United are launching a second edition of their Re:Create business support programme for creative freelancers, artists, makers, and entrepreneurs based in Wandsworth. Applications for the programme will open at the launch event in June and the programme will commence in September.
The Re:Create 2023 programme offers:
- the opportunity for 50 creatives and cultural enterprises in Wandsworth to receive 3 hours of free tailored one-to-one business mentoring.
- access a complimentary e-learning course focused on business skills (including lots of on-demand training videos, downloadable resources, and quiz quizzes) for all creative and cultural businesses, artists and makers based in the borough.
Re:Create 2023 is keen to support individuals who are currently under-represented in the creative and cultural sectors or experience marginalisation, such as people of colour, those with disabilities or members of the LGBTQ+ community.

London Tech Week comes to Wandsworth!
London Tech Week, which takes place 12th - 16th June, is an annual celebration of tech and talent, which aims to showcase how tech is transforming business and society. Now in its 10th year, London Tech Week will feature events taking place across the capital
To mark the week, Tooting based business Shapeways.io, in partnership with Business Launchpad, the Prince’s Trust and Wandsworth Council, will be hosting a series of workshops at Tooting Works, designed to help local entrepreneurs improve their digital and tech skills.

Learn about the Circular Economy
The next Wandsworth Sustainability Partnership event will be held on Tuesday 6th June at the Wandsworth Professional Development Centre in Tooting and will focus on the Circular Economy.
The partnership welcomes senior leaders and stakeholders from the borough from business, community groups and the public sector, meeting in person every few months to learn more about and collaborate around Sustainability.

Find the right workspace for your business
To help local businesses, freelances and organisations find the right premises to start or grow their operations, the Council’s Enterprise Team has launched the Wandsworth Workspace Directory.
The directory features a comprehensive listing of more than 40 commercial properties across the borough, use the search filter to find flexible workspaces, serviced offices, workshops, kitchens, studios and meeting rooms in the location of your choice.
The directory includes premises like Tooting Works which has new medium to large office spaces from just £180 per month, and World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens which has a concert hall, studios and other event spaces for hire, as well as filming and live streaming services.

Ainsley Harriott to host Wandsworth Chamber Business Awards
Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce has announced that Wandsworth resident Ainsley Harriott will be hosting this year’s Wandsworth Business Awards.
This event is not just for those businesses shortlisted, and all businesses are welcome to come and celebrate resilience and connect with the business community in Wandsworth.
Tickets upstairs are only £55 each including:
- Opera performance including opera classics
- Delicious Caribbean food from a local caterer
- Networking
- DJ and dancing
