Richmond warns reserves could run out as government funding cuts deepen financial pressure
Richmond Council is warning government funding cuts could wipe out its financial reserves within the next few years. A report discussed by our Finance, Policy and Resources Committee last week shows that reserves of £52 million at the start of 2026/27 could fall to £28 million by the end of the financial year.
These reserves could run out within the next four years.
Richmond celebrates double success at ICE London Awards
Richmond upon Thames has scooped two prestigious honours at the Institution of Civil Engineers London 2026 Awards, recognising two major infrastructure projects!
The Thames Path at Kew won Best Project – Asset Resilience, while the Richmond Cycle Hub was named Best Project – Sustainability.
