Councillors reaffirm commitment to all residents, as committee chairs and leadership confirmed
At Tuesday night's Annual General Meeting, councillors formally approved appointments to the Council’s principal committees and decision-making bodies, alongside lead member and champion roles. These will support delivery of the Council’s priorities for residents over the coming year.
Council welcomes London’s first Thames bathing site
Joining 464 other designated bathing waters across the UK, the River Thames at Ham and Kingston has become London’s first official river bathing water site, which has been welcomed by the Council. Earlier this year the Council announced that it is progressing feasibility work, exploring how riverside access and public spaces can be improved in response to increased use of the area.
Bank Holiday Waste and Recycling collections
There will be no changes to waste and recycling collections, including garden waste collections, over next week's bank holiday on 25 May. We will continue to collect on your home's usual collection day.

Community BlueScapes Fair - Free Flood Resilience Event in Barnes
Join us for the Community BlueScapes Fair at OSO Arts Centre on 20 June - a free, family-friendly event that celebrates water, nature and community wellbeing in our local area.
The fair will feature a range of engaging stalls and hands-on experiences, including children's nature-based activities, as well as an opportunity to learn about the Community BlueScapes flood resilience programme. Plus, the first 100 attendees will receive a free cupcake!
