Council seeks to clear the air with consultation on new vehicle idling powers
We are inviting residents to have their say on a proposed boroughwide trial to tackle vehicle engine idling. The proposal would strengthen enforcement powers against drivers who leave their engines running when stationary, especially near schools and crossings, helping to improve air quality. The consultation is open until 28 October, and your feedback will help shape the final decision later this year.

Summer bank holiday waste and recycling collections
There will be no changes to the schedule of waste and recycling collections following the summer bank holiday on Monday 25 August. We'll continue to collect residential waste on your usual collection day.

Your Community Centre Week returns next month
Celebrate the return of Your Community Centre Week from 22 to 28 September and discover the vibrant community spaces across Richmond upon Thames. Residents can enjoy guided tours aboard a vintage Routemaster bus, complete with cream tea and live music at Linden Hall and Mortlake Hall. It’s a great opportunity to connect with your neighbours and explore what’s on offer.
