Richmond delivers for residents in major year of progress
From climate action and community safety to education, housing, and health, we've had a big year of significant achievement, with major progress delivered across all service areas in 2024/25! A report to the Council’s Policy and Performance Review Board last week laid out the scale of delivery over the past year – highlighting a Council focused on the basics, ambitious for the borough, and committed to real outcomes for local people.
Richmond’s last police front counter is set to close - Council Leader slams “shameful” decision
The Metropolitan Police have made a decision to close the 24/7 front counter at Twickenham Police Station - the last remaining front counter in the borough. Leader of Richmond Council, Cllr Gareth Roberts, has condemned the move, branding it deeply concerning and a major blow to local policing visibility and public confidence.

Richmond’s Town Centre to take centre stage with new September festival
The streets of Richmond will pulse with music, creativity, and community this September, as a brand-new festival takes over the heart of the town centre! Set for Saturday 13 September 2025, the free event will transform George Street and Whittaker Avenue with live performances, dance workshops, roaming theatre, street food, communal dining and hands-on art activities – offering something for everyone.
