Richmond’s new Mayor to champion local carer and children’s charities
We are delighted to welcome a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor following a formal appointment on Tuesday night. Councillor Penny Frost of Ham, Petersham and Richmond Riverside has been appointed as Mayor, with her chosen Deputy being Councillor Clare Vollum of Kew. During her time as Mayor, Councillor Frost has chosen to raise money and awareness for two local charities close to her heart - Crossroads Care and Small Steps - who support local people with caring responsibilities and families with young children who have disabilities.
Richmond offers ‘unique growth opportunity’, say London leaders
Richmond upon Thames is increasingly becoming a hub for high-value, forward-thinking businesses looking for somewhere different to locate their London operations. Sustainable business growth, opportunities for diverse communities, and revitalised town centres were central topics this week as Councillors Gareth Roberts and Phil Giesler met with Laura Citron OBE, CEO of London & Partners, to explore new opportunities for economic development across the borough.

Major repairs underway to reopen Richmond to Kew towpath
Major repair works on the Thames towpath between Richmond Lock and Kew Gardens car park (Ferry Lane) are now underway. We're currently removing sediment from the main channel of the river so that sheet piling works can start on site. Works are expected to be completed in summer of this year.

Looking for local volunteering opportunities? The annual Richmond CVS Volunteer Fair will be back at Richmond and Hillcroft Adult Community College on Wednesday 21 May from 2-6pm. Connect with over 50 local groups and organisations looking for residents who want to volunteer their time and skills. The fair is free to attend but advance registration is required.
