Update on gas leak affecting Hospital Bridge Road
Hospital Bridge Road, Whitton is currently closed at the railway bridge, adjacent to Montrose Avenue, due to Cadent Gas attending an emergency gas leak. There is a local diversion in place.
The leak involves a 24 inch medium pressure Victorian gas main, which forms part of the strategic network supplying gas across London. While the source of the leak is yet to be identified, Cadent Gas teams are working tirelessly to locate it.
Due to the age and condition of the gas main, its location on a railway bridge, and the potential need for a complex engineering solution, Hospital Bridge Road will remain closed until 31/03/2025. We continue to liaise closely with Cadent Gas to ensure repairs are expedited as much as possible.
Additionally, London Buses has confirmed a temporary diversion for bus route 481 via Nelson Road and High Street Whitton and Percy Road until Hospital Bridge Road reopens.
