Voluntary Sector Forum - Wednesday 28 February 2024
Sign up now for the next Voluntary Sector Forum, which provides an opportunity for you to hear updates from the Council and others on topical matters, as well as providing an open forum where you can exchange information with other organisations and ask questions. Topics to be discussed include: prevention framework and the sexual and reproductive health strategy as well as climate change grants.
Date: Wednesday 28 February 2024 Time: 10am – 12pm (30 mins networking and refreshments before and after the meeting, but please note that lunch will not be provided) Location: This will be an in-person meeting in The Salon, York House, Richmond Road, Twickenham

Help us celebrate the local heroes across the borough who go the extra mile towards making Richmond upon Thames a better place to be, without expecting anything in return. They deserve to be recognised, and you can help by promoting nominations and adding one (or more) yourself. There are ten categories to choose from and all work must have been carried out in a voluntary capacity.
Nominations close on Monday 26 February 2024.
Employ Richmond - employment and skills event
Employ Richmond 2024 is one of the largest free employment and skills events in Richmond Upon Thames and this year’s event is taking place on Friday 23 February 2024 at The Exchange in Twickenham.
Employ Richmond offers a unique opportunity for anyone seeking work locally, seeking a career change or simply beginning their career journey. Local businesses and organisations from a variety of sectors will be in attendance to provide employment and training opportunities.
Attendees will have exclusive face-to-face access to the Richmond Work Match team, who are dedicated to helping job seekers find their next role or access training and skills development.
New Met for London community event
The Metropolitan police are holding a New Met for London community event for Richmond with a focus on anti-social behaviour.
Find out, and influence, how the Metropolitan Police Service is changing to deliver more trust, less crime and high standards for Londoners.
The event is being held from 6pm at the Wetlands Centre, Queen Elizabeth Walk, Barnes on Tuesday 19 March 2024.

Health & Wellbeing Network - Monday 26 February 2024, 2.30pm-4pm, free. Are you connected with a local voluntary and community group involved in health and wellbeing work? Hear about relevant updates, initiatives, give your views, share information and network with local colleagues.

Ethical Issues in Volunteer Engagement - Tuesday 27 February 2024, 10am-12.30pm, cost dependent on organisation size. Richmond CVS’ next online session for anyone with responsibility for recruiting or managing volunteers in a voluntary or community sector organisation will once again be led by voluntary sector expert Rob Jackson.

Richmond's Food Partnership Network - Tuesday 5 March 2024, 12 noon-1pm, free. This local network aims to bring together local organisations delivering activity relating to food provision and environmental sustainability. Anyone with a relevant interest or connected activity is welcome to join.

Get Your Voice Heard in UK Parliament - Wednesday 6 March 2024, 12 noon - 1.30pm, free. What’s the best way to engage with parliamentary systems when campaigning for change? This free workshop with UK Parliament's Senior Education and Engagement Officer will help you understand, or refresh your knowledge, on how parliament works and how to put your views forward.

Totally Thames 2024: Seed Fund Programme
Totally Thames is an annual festival of river and river-related arts and culture. It takes place in London, throughout September and is curated / managed by Thames Festival Trust.
Do you have an event or project you would love to share with London and it's river community? Totally Thames has a Seed Fund which could provide up to £1,000 towards costs.
Making Every Contact Count training available
Free training is available for frontline workers and volunteers in the borough on Making Every Contact Count.
A range of online courses are offered including topics such as Emotional Health and Wellbeing, Dementia Awareness and Air Pollution and Health. They are available to voluntary sector organisations through the Learning Pool.
Play Works at Orleans House Gallery
Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham are offering free family fun Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm, until Sunday 23 June 2024. The gallery in Twickenham has transformed into an extraordinary playground, filled with swathes of organza, masks and mirrors, balls and blocks scattered throughout just waiting for children to bring them to life. Play Works is a hands-on experience celebrating the endless possibilities of play. Booking is necessary at weekends and during holidays.
Spaces available for hire at Orleans House Gallery
Orleans House Gallery, set in beautiful gardens and woods on the bank of the Thames in Twickenham, has a range of spaces for hire. The light-filled Coach House accommodates up to 60 people in a variety of seating styles, just £125 for a half day. The Training Room offers a more formal meeting and training space complete with AV large screen connection, hybrid technology for remote attendees and customised table configuration. A full day hire is £130. Both rooms are fully accessible, and the on site caterers are happy to help.
