We're increasing our food waste recycling service for residents
As part of our commitment to combatting the effects of food waste on our environment, we're continuing the rollout of our food recycling service for properties with communal waste and recycling facilities in the borough.
Recycling and minimising our food waste is an important step we can all take to help reduce our carbon emissions. Curious about the climate impact of food waste in Richmond upon Thames? Watch our short animation.
Residents who are part of the next rollout phase will be notified by the end of March 2023.

Know someone doing amazing environmental work in your community?
Nominations for our annual Community Heroes Awards are open, and we need your help to recognise our local green champions for this year's Environmental Award, which recognises individuals, projects and groups who volunteer their time to make significant steps towards tackling climate change and environmental issues.
Our 2021 winner, among other things, helped to create the Green Richmond Guide, to support residents in living more sustainably.
Don't miss the chance to nominate!

Give us your thoughts on our brand identity for the Beverley Brook Flood Resilience Project
The Beverley Brook Innovative Flood Resilience project is a community-driven approach to improve the ability for local people and places to plan for, respond to, and recover from flooding and the effects of climate change.
It’s important that the community is at the heart of this project, so we'd love to invite you to help develop the visual identity of the project by completing this short 10-minute survey.

Help us plan Richmond's Great Big Green Week 2023
Richmond Great Big Green Week (known last year as Richmond Clean and Green Week) is back this June (10-18), and we want this year to be bigger and better than ever with a range of activities taking place across our communities.
We will be hosting another community workshop soon and would love for any interested groups and individuals to come along and find out about new funding sources, how to get involved and what support will be on offer.
Email us if you would like to attend or for more information!

Get involved in helping us map out climate work across the borough
We're working hard to map out all of the climate-related projects, groups and volunteer opportunities across the borough, so that we can shout about them regularly.
If you or someone you know is currently working on something, let us know about it by emailing us.
We're also looking out for local activities taking place around Repair Week (20-26 March) and the Great British Spring Clean (17 March-2 April). If you know of anything going on in your community that other residents can participate in, please let us know!
