Energy Bills Support Scheme
The government's Energy Bills Support Scheme provides a £400 non-repayable discount to eligible households to help with their energy bills over winter 2022 to 2023. You do not need to apply for the discount, but how you receive it will depend on how you get your electricity (domestic electricity connection vs pre-payment meter).
Area-specific funding support
There are several local funding schemes available to residents of various wards. Visit our website to find out more about these specific opportunities and if you’re eligible.

South West London Energy Advice Partnership
Local organisation South West London Energy Advice Partnership (SWLEAP), a partnership between local conservation charity Habitats & Heritage and CREW, offers free, impartial and friendly energy advice to help residents manage energy bills. Energy supplier grants
The following energy suppliers offer grants to their customers: British Gas, Scottish Power, Ovo Energy, E.ON Energy, ON Next Energy, EDF Energy, Bulb Energy and Octopus.

Warm Spaces
We want to do as much as possible to help our residents. Therefore, we are working with our local partners to provide access to a network of Warm Spaces, a group of places where Richmond residents can come together to stay warm.
Some venues will also offer hot drinks, activities and access to other services.

Fuel Support for pensioners
A £100 one-off payment is available to pensioners in receipt of Council Tax reduction through the Fuel Support Scheme. No need to apply—payments will be made direct to your bank, or you will be supplied with a voucher.
Pensioners can, as usual, get between £100 and £300 to help pay heating bills during the winter months through the government Winter Fuel Payment. This winter, they can also receive an extra one-off £300 Pensioner Cost of Living Payment, which will be paid as an automatic top-up to the Winter Fuel Payment.

Cold Weather Payment
If you’re getting certain benefits or Support for Mortgage Interest, you may be able to get a Cold Weather Payment if the average temperature in your area is recorded as, or forecast to be, 0 degrees Celsius or below over seven consecutive days. Cold Weather Payments are different to Winter Fuel Payments.
