Christmas tree collections have begun!
We’ve been busy collecting your Christmas trees, so please be patient with us as we work our way around the borough.
Please ensure that you leave your tree close to the front edge of your property, so that it is visible to our collection crews without blocking the pavement
There are also plenty of other ways to dispose of your tree. You can also take your tree to our Garth Road recycling centre to be recycled, or chop it up and pop it in your garden waste bin.
If you come across a dumped Christmas tree, please report it as a fly-tip.
Find your #BoroughofSport at Movement Mornings
Join Attic Theatre Company’s Movement Mornings dance sessions every Monday from 10.30am at Vestry Hall, Mitcham, tailored for those aged 55 and above.
As part of Attic Theatre’s Many Moons project, these sessions offer a blend of activity and socialising with similar people in the community. They're designed to improve flexibility, memory, strength and stamina in a welcoming environment with a supportive instructor.

Get support for debt and money worries this January
If you're struggling with debt and money worries following the festive season, and feeling the ongoing impact of the cost of living crisis, speak to someone who can help.
We're supporting Citizens Advice Merton & Lambeth (CAML) to provide in-person advice and support in Merton's Libraries and Wide Way Medical Centre in Mitcham every week. They have expert advisers you can speak to about your personal circumstances face to face.
Find warm spaces whilst SWEP is in place
Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) is in place in London until 12pm on Friday 12 January. During SWEP, Councils provide warm accommodation for rough sleepers - help someone sleeping rough or get help for yourself.
With the low temperatures set to continue, there are a range of warm and welcoming spaces available in Merton for you if you need it. All Merton libraries and other community spaces are part of the 'Warm Spaces' scheme – all heated and free. Find a warm space near you.
