In early February, we will be printing our new Live Well Havering booklet.

This booklet is a paper-based directory of key services in the borough.

This will also be published online for those who would prefer online access - more information on this will be shared in the New Year.

If you run a local organisation / group and would like printed copies of this booklet, or posters to promote the digital version, please request your printed copies here by Thursday 30 January.

Attend Havering's Maternity & Neonatal Conference

Communities Against Racism and Extremism (CARE) Champions

Join the Exit Hate Trust on Thursday 13 February 13:00-15:00 to learn about the CARE Champions programme.

This project aims to support the local work that is already going on locally and to raise awareness about the Extreme Right-Wing (ERW).

Building on your existing skills, the Exit Hate Trust aim to upskill people who support vulnerable people to understand the dangers of extremism and what they can do to counter it - creating safe spaces to talk (reducing the need for people to talk to extremists), providing alternatives to extremist messages and signposting people to get help.

This event is taking place on Thursday 13 February 13:00 - 15:00 in the Council Chamber, Havering Town Hall, RM1 3BB.

FREE Deaf Awareness Workshop

Sign language speakers

Did you know that in the UK, 1 in 6 people have some degree of hearing loss? That’s about 10 million people!

This workshop, run by the Empowering Deaf Society, will

  • introduce the issues and barriers faced by Deaf people
  • give you easy to remember communication tips 
  • give you some basic knowledge of British Sign Language

FREE spoken word poetry programme for schools

Spoken Word Poetry

Spoken Word Power Live is a FREE opportunity for primary, secondary and SEND schools across the UK and beyond, to help make poetry fun and exciting for students. 

Through a range of livestream workshops and free classroom resources, this programme will inspire students to write and perform their own original spoken word poetry, responding to this year’s theme 'The Way I See It'. 

Participating classes will become published poets in our annual anthology, and have the chance to perform in London's West End!

Funding opportunities

East London’s four Creative People and Places programmes have teamed up with Art School Plus to pilot a new project which will support eleven artists based in Redbridge, Newham, Barking & Dagenham, and Havering to participate in a bespoke training programme designed and delivered in February 2025.

The Nourish Fund makes funding of up to £2,000 available to enable small or newly set-up organisations to access our paid-for services, that they may not otherwise be able to afford.

Funding for formal partnership projects to involve more people in climate action.

Training for frontline workers / teams to do training if you support people experiencing homelessness.
