Keeping it clean

Clean Air Day logo 2022 495px wide

Havering Council is supporting Clean Air Day today (Thursday 16 June).

The priority is to provide ways in which residents can continue to lead healthy and happy lives and part of that is working to help improve the air they breathe.

Specifically the Council is working to help improve air quality in Havering by encouraging drivers to turn off their engines when parked up near schools, and launching walking zone maps for schools to use to help encourage more walking and cycling to and from school.

The Council is also delivering 68 electric vehicle charging points at 12 car park locations, and 80 on-street charging points connected to lamp columns across the borough.
