News for Havering residents, Thursday 25 July 2019.
There is no other place that I would wish to live than Havering. This borough is truly a remarkable and community spirited collection of towns and villages.
Over the last few months, Government Ministers have pushed the idea of additional public spending to put our country in the best position to embrace Brexit. For me, local Government has to be the clear target of any additional funding, having become one of the most efficient parts of the public sector, but with also the largest reduction in support than any other area of our state since 2010.
I will therefore be working with other authority leaders, and our own MPs, seeking additional funds to support our Council. Any additional monies must be ploughed both into our social services (adult and children) and our wider community.
A budget consultation will be launched this autumn and should any real, additional, funding materialise then our residents will help to decide where it will be spent.
Cllr Damian White
Leader, Havering Council

Get on your bike for summer. Havering Council has once again joined forces with Cycle Confident, to offer free cycle training across the borough.
